Comments:I saw two of these hanging above the front windows of an old 2nd hand store in Tasmania. These two fittings are the only T17's I've ever seen. You don't realise how thick the tubes are till you see them in person. The resettable GE 'Watch Dog' starter is probably original. The tube is sadly EOL.

Yeah I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I first saw it. Myself and another Aussie collector are trying to save these!

Those are proper fatty tubes!! A tad over 2" diameter!! Not seen one on 240v switchstart though! Nice! An old Westinghouse Blackender T17 would look nice in this if they existed....?

Lovely tube, fitting and starter! Yes good luck with saving these beauties.

Al you should get these! Are the tubes still available where you are. I know John has some!

Kev, the spare tubes are totally non existent here, the US would be the only source however I don't know how well they'd ship though. The last T17's available here were the Sylvania Super-diazo type for printers. Never seen one but I'd imagine they'd be UV output.

Is that a red reset button on the starter?
