That looks like a tough fitting. What make of ballast was originally fitted in this?

Oh interesting that the ballast has gone! Is this SRS?

Originally had a Parmar 85W SRS ballast in it, had arced over at one of the terminals completely disintegrating it. I've fitted a CC 85W SRS ballast of exact same dimensions.

Yeah the batten isn't meant to be seen naked really, there should be a large diffuser with caps covering the entire ends of the fitting.

Built just like a Thorn Atlantic by the looks of it

shame those Parmar SRS ballasts are normally bullet proof!

Look like they were mounted `end to end` to with the knock out missing? Smile

I've seen similar fittings with little clips either side of the lampholders for the diffuser! I think this style was made up to the 90s as a T8 version!

As it happens I salvaged the innards of a Designplan Sparta fitting today with Parmar 'starterless' 85w ballast which was being skipped at a local school. Wired it up and worked perfectly. :woohoo:
