Comments:Patented Thorn braided cathodes! Found this and another tube today, they appear to match up with the other pair a found a little while back and had an equal amount of black dust on them! This one I've taken home as it's in perfect working condit

I am Glad you have found a super five with no shields. This is what i was telling you about ages ago when i said i liked the super five because they would go real black at the ends but still go on and on!

Nice find! your pic prompted me to check my tubes in the attic was'nt sure if I had the Super Five version and yes I do Warm White no shields but with deeper caps it looks well used too!

Ah Splendid! These Super tubes are really remarkable, examples can be found still in use today! Shocked The cathodes were of a patented design lasting much longer than conventional coiled coil ones which are still used today!

This beauty just popped up in the randoms! Super Five in 29! Get in! You now need a 33 Daylight 4300K version to compliment it!
