These ballasts seem to run quite hot but appear well made and are very quiet in operation.

Totally agree there, my 250watt VS SON ballast, for the Astra runs that hot, you can`t touch it, the white paint on it is starting to yellow now, but it is quiet gear Wink

I dont think WW ballasts are made as well as they used to be say the old Atlas made Thorns and stuff!

Yes the Thorn/Atlas ones are the better ones, can`t understand why VS make these to run so hot though, GE say that if a ballast overheats, it changes the current supplied to the lamp.
