Yes they are very similar. The Kolorarc is nicer though but that's because it's a Thorn! Very Happy I also prefer the coated lamp.

Is this a horizontal or vertical burning lamp, we cannot tell because the etch has rubbed off? Anyone have any ideas?

Hard to say Tom, most multi-vapor in GEs lamp guide are universal operation, with the exception of the high output lamps and the Halarc MXR which are listed as either VBU or HOR
