Compaired to what? Modern HF they are better but compaired to magnetic of their time not as good as they still fail! but they are more reliable than modern Tridonics

I notice the labelling on this is very similar to the 24v Smart and Brown inverter ballast I now have in my lorry! A good HF'er this one!

Yes, it most probably is a Smart and Brown too, a lot of the Thorn gear was at the time.

Im not sure what the relationship was but i know Atlas and SB were the same croud!!
