Good luck Al!

Yes good luck from me too al!

Thanks guys, here's hoping. Hey did you check out the link to all those UK-made GE 125w tubes in Sydney? That's too far for me to go pick them up and I wouldn't be able to fit them all in my car.
Kev   [Jun 17, 2012 at 01:22 PM]
That is a big shame! Thats unbelieveable that they have been on a TV Ad and now they are on ebay! Awsome you should post that on LG. It would be nice if they went to a collector as they are hard to get hold of now!

These are one huge lantern, be good in your collection Al, as I remember you saying their not made anymore, looks new aswell? Very Happy

So far, my bid of $1.25 hasn't been outbid yet. I have yet to actually win something on eBay; I normally just do the 'buy it now's. Rich, that's right, these were last listed in 1984. I thought this was NOS at first but it's been used however you wouldn't know looking at the pic. It's 1700km from me so will need to organise shipping if I win it. Apparently seller has 5 of them.
Tom   [Jun 18, 2012 at 11:32 AM]
1700km! That's more than double the distance from me to Inverness!! That's got to go by air surely?
Alan_M   [Jun 18, 2012 at 01:23 PM]
Haha yeah, Aussie is around 5000km from one side to the other. Pretty big considering only 22 million people live here. Mind you, most of it's desert... No, it'll go by truck most likely. They do a lot of miles here.
Alan_M   [Jun 23, 2012 at 11:53 AM]
Well, I won this for A$50.00 (approx. £32.28 ) plus whatever shipping will be. Seller has another four of them that I will get too hopefully.
Paul   [Jun 23, 2012 at 12:11 PM]
Congrats! :woohoo:
Alan_M   [Jun 23, 2012 at 01:14 PM]
I'm not looking forward to the shipping cost, whatever that'll be especially if I get all five of them.
Linear_SLI   [Jun 23, 2012 at 01:17 PM]
Good score Al, these look lush, however, if I would have designed it I would have put the bottom tube right under the top 2 in a shorter tri-angle shape. But GEC must have had a reason for having it so low? Very Happy
Tom   [Jun 23, 2012 at 01:32 PM]
Well done Al! About the same price as a bog standard twin 36w weatherpack here!
SuperSix   [Jun 23, 2012 at 01:35 PM]
Fantastic! Very Happy Interesting design with the 3rd lamp so low down!
Kev   [Jun 23, 2012 at 08:07 PM]
Maybe it was for some kind of part night switching rich? Tell you what one of these would go a treat on the front of my barn!
Alan_M   [Jun 24, 2012 at 08:19 AM]
They also made a four tube version, the fourth tube was located between the lowest one and the top two (when looking at the three tuber). A five footer was also made but that only went up to three tubes...
Alan_M   [Jun 24, 2012 at 01:49 PM]
The seller has told me I can have all five for the same price, so the other four won't be going back to auction. Will post more pics when they get here.
