Bugger me! for £1 as well! Surprised I bet you can get a nice view of the cathodes inside too Very Happy
Tom   [May 14, 2011 at 05:39 PM]
Oh yes there is a good view of the cathodes alright! And it was powered up a few years back when I got it home. Struck first time!!! And that was on a modern 65w ballast!

Address on the sleeve is Melton road, Leicester. The now demolished BTH/AEI/Thorn/GE works! RIP Sad

Another tube that would've been confined to the crusher had I not snapped it up that day!

Sadly this tube appears to have lost pressure / has a leak. It won't start now, just lights up orange at the cathodes.

That's a real shame. I was hoping that you had managed to get this working again. Sad

Id contact GE and see what they say about the 3000H warranty Razz (if it still glows on a plasma ball id try running it on a SOX leak ballast see if you can kick it into gear a 180W SOX ballast is 900Ma a 80W BC tube is 800Ma so not much of a difference a 90/140W leak ballast can also work)

Cool find Smile
Shame it doesn't light anymore Sad
I've had lamps that refuse to light on a standard ballast, but will still go on HF

This wouldn't have any of it on HF etc.
