Comments:Here is a catalogue from 1958 of the Ecko Ensign range of fittings. I found a couple of the twin fittings abandoned in the basement of the estate agent where my mum worked in 1985. I was only 12 at the time and the main thing I remember about them was how very heavy they were! There was one shop in the area that still had these in service, but compared to the pop packs and similar of the time, they looked old and bulky.

Quite neat fitting for 1950s stuff, love how they use to put the price in the catalogue!

Yeah and lots of old units which are now oboslete such as s.w.g. and cycles! I do like the wide range of accessories that were available!

Yes! There used to be some in my primary school! I won't say how long ago that was!

Currys used to have these fitted in our local branch back in the 1960s they were twin 5ft with cool white tubes. I remember checking them out while i waited for the bus to school.Woolies also had the twin 8ft version fitted this branch opened around 1961 and they where'nt replaced till the early 1990s

Absolute tank of a fitting! The first Atlas Atlantics shared the same lampholders/ends but had a more squared body which was also a Woolies favourite! Many were rocking Thorn Natural tubes followed by Philips 84s!

Ah yes! Simon, I remember the ones in Currys!

Just looked at this again... I like the way it gives 'phone', 'grams' and 'cables' for contact details!
