Comments:The suburban streets of Canberra (Australia) feature a VERY mixed and eclectic collection of street lanterns and lights. Most of them seem to use concrete or steel posts, with an assortment of lanterns bolted to them. Most of these seem to use MV lamps in them, though some have had the ballasts by-passed, and have been fitted with domestic CFLs. I also saw a couple using LPS or HPS lamps, though most likely HPS. This lantern may possible be a GEC product, though I didn't get a chance to look at any badges/names on it.

The bowl, (or enclosing cone), as GEC call them!, looks very similar to the UK Z5672 GEC post top.

Do you know the details of these lanterns? Maybe Al_m will be able to shed some light on them! Laughing
