Comments: | With standard halophosphor lamps, it was immediately obvious that colours weren't rendered properly underneath them, and so there was an obvious case for high CRI lamps in certain applications. However with standard triphosphor already being high CRI, the market for an even higher CRI version seems to be rather niche. This is the only 900 series deluxe triphosphor lamp in my collection, a gift from Paul. Oddly it appears to have slipped through quality control, with the phosphor at one end being thicker than the other, creating a slight colour shift. The etch design, placement and endcaps suggest that this is in fact an Osram tube. I rarely see these for sale, and when I do, they are very expensive. I suspect they never really caught on, except in design studios or art galleries. A nice piece to have, and works wonderfully on dimmable gear. |
