Comments:It looked 10 times worse when I first got it, it just needs sanding down and respraying now.One of the starters that came with this is original, all the control gear is original and there's a lovely pair of shiny gold Atlas chokes in there.

There was a nice installation of these nice old twins in the Geography/History block at my upper school with trough reflectors. Some even still had the original Atlas 'SUPER FIVE' tubes (with the deep caps) still going after 25 odd years! My dad also has a couple in his signmaking studio with ageing Crompton Northlight tubes.

The super fives, they have braided cathodes which holds loads of emitter, that'll be why they lasted so long! I love these fittings

Got one of these kicking around in the attic at my parent's house. Must reclaim it!

There's 3 of these in 2x40w in the dressing rooms of the theatre I do volunteer work for in Brisbane that I'm going to try to get. Unfortunately, they've had the original ballasts rather clumsily replaced with locally made ATCO's. Worth saving though anyway I think.

@Al they better not be HFs in those fittings! Shocked Another place that had these lovely twins was the John Menzies record shop where I used to buy my vinyl as a kid! Twin 8' 125w!! Simply beautiful!!

No they're not, I've seen the pic Wink Oh how I'd love an 8 foot!!!

@Supersix - is this the only superslim double you have?

Yeah it is at the mo, still sat there in the shed waiting to be restored, I don't know if it'll get done this year now, too busy Sad

Just remembered another place! The Bejam's frozen foods down my way was fitted out with twin 8' Superslims behind these deep batwing louvres that spanned the entire shop ceiling! There were a few 5' twin Courtney Popes in there for good measure too! These all went when it became Iceland. Crying or Very sad

Here's a link to the ones I'm going to try to get. @st_tdci (fyi I have a 2.0L Focus tdci, just thought I'd say), luckily they are not HF, that would've required too much re-wiring and expense!
