I agree these are superb little units! All the Thorn Alpha 4s down my road had these as did many other streetlights around Oxford. Not one was ever seen day burning! The only day burners have the NEMA plug-ins! PS have you noticed inside the cell that silver coating (like on a scratchcard) on the LDR window with a couple of scratches in it?

Yes, not with this one but I have with the earlier ones. that's how they calibrated them or whatever the word is!? Just scratch a bit off at a time until you get it at the right value. I've seen some too that have just been scribbled on with a marker to get the resistance right!

All our P42s are gone now, for some type of cell that resemble a halogen capsule lamp poking up on top!, never seen them anywhere else?
