HF was great in the 80s! Cool

Nice - I have a single 5ft HF version, I was chuffed with it until I realised how rubbish HF is today! I hope these old ones were over-engineered!

Love the "Do not megga test" warning, will this be one of the more reliable HF chokes?

Yes! Love your 5' single Paul! Well, all the modulars in the offices upstairs where I used to work were still running with their original Thorn 3x 36W ballasts last year after 24 years service, I have confidence in them!

Edit: Found the journal! A very interesting read, sure I've seen some of the ballasts like the type in to photo (with little images showing how to release the connectors) but I can't think where. Interesting that they say 'the lamp is started under the most favourable conditions for good lamp life' and claim a reduction in end blackening yet the ballast here and three other Thorn ones I have are instant start! Confused Completely cold start the lamp!
