File information
Filename:Rail_Yard_Lighting.jpg
Album name:Mercury Vapour / HPS / Metal Halide Lanterns
Comments:I spotted these in use in a small rail yard near Yass, in Australia. Notice the unusual one in the middle! I'm not sure if these work or not, but being an active mainline (THE mainline), I would assume so.

Are these Thorn Alpha Threes with flat glass lenses?

I wouldn't have a clue, as I'm not well versed with street light types. I mainly only know the more iconic lanterns that are still found in regular use (Optispecs, Optispans, Sylvania Roadsters, Sylvania Suburbans/urbans, Sylvania B2224s, Philips Metros etc.). I couldn't really get any closer without trespassing on railway land.
