Yes so much perfectly good stuff just gets chucked out! A lot of it is down to ignorance, maybe this put in a fitting to replace a mercury lamp and was then thrown out when it didn't light?

Our bin is full of NOS 400watts, its the old, "plug in, and it didn`t light, so bin it and try another", not taking in to account if the ignitor was checked before hand!, great save.
