Another lovely Fitzy! Cool So Fitzgerald lighting was founded in 1983? I wonder partly because I have an early LP40 with a S&B ballast & square Thorn start holder here

Thanks! Founded in 72 Rob! I'm yet to find anything dating back that early though! Ah yes, I'd imagine your LP40 must be a late 70s model, Tom's your man for that though!

I think it is Eliot because of the ballast. Unfortunately my Grandad who gave it to me is no longer with us to ask.

Just realised my dodgy maths :doh:

Factory fitted with a (...) HF ballast ay. I had a job in for 15 at one place 2004 and another 22 at another school plus some really old 2006 T5 Thorn mods that the school are so pissed off with they want changed to switch start T8!
Jools   [Nov 15, 2013 at 12:17 AM]
i will only have magnetic switchstart/srs/quickstart in my home.. the only time thats likely to change is when im in a box 6 foot underground :vomit: HF

Nice fitting..
Still in the box too - cool Cool

I like the slim design on these Smile

You're a bit behind the times with this one. The Slimline Lightpack has been available only with high frequency gear since 2009!

Nice fitting you got there
@kev I here ya on HF there about good frying tubes
@ Jay u should look for a 110 volt version SS 58 watt fizzy light pack.

I wish our HF ballasts were like the American types! Ours shut down or simply fail themselves if they actually last long enough for a tube to reach EOL!
funkylamp   [Nov 16, 2013 at 01:41 AM]
Tom u should import a few multivolt ballast as they run on 50/60 Hz from the US.

@funkylamp:
Good idea Smile didn't know a 110v ver existed...I wonder if any made it over here? I was gonna add "Fitzgerald Fluorescent" to my list of saved searches on eBay... LOL eBay sucks so bad now I couldn't even figure out how to do it...

@Tom:
Some of the HF ballasts here suck too... had a couple myself that didn't even make it a full month :doh:
But yeah some are pretty good, and those IS ones are fun for EOL lamps Smile
A 277v version will also work fine on 240v
funkylamp   [Nov 16, 2013 at 01:18 PM]
@Jay I am a proud owner of one as I bought Two of them on UK eBay dirt cheap, the postage bit of a killer so one left behind to a member. Some of them orange End caps as to indicate a low voltage one.
Jay   [Nov 17, 2013 at 04:58 PM]
^Noce score on those funkylamp Smile but yeah I think its cost of postage that'd basically kill any otherwize good deal

LOL I wish I had a way to just 'fly' over to the UK pickup some of their 5/6/8 foot fittings & fly back LOL wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't get used ones that were taken out for an "upgrade" for cheap or even free
