Anyone know what the 'SAVE IT' is about on the boxes? In a sort of rubber stamp effect. I'm guessing it relates to low power consumption over traditional domestic light sources.

There were stickers next to the light switches in my primary school in the late 70s with the words 'Switch off when not in use' and 'SAVE IT!' in a red circle that looked like a rubber stamp. Not sure if they had been issued to reduce power consumption during the power cuts earlier in the decade.

Intersting Eliot, that fits in with the time of those stickers around the school then when I started in the late 1978. The teachers were very careful to only use the lights when needed and switch off when there was no one in the room, though I suspect that would be down to the headmistress.

Think some of the old class rooms still might have these!!!! I'll keep a look out!
