Comments: | Magnet House on the Kingsway in London was the pride of the company's founder Hugo Hirst, a magnificent building of almost embarrasing grandeur inside. When Arnold Weinstock came to power as the head of GEC, this was one of the first buildings to get the chop as the company streamlined its finances for the boom of the 1960s and a shift to the considerably more affordable, but rather boring HQ at Stanhope. |

Sadly not Kev, it was demolished in the mid 60's

Not sure really. Apparently it was just demolished and another building with the same name put up in it's place. Maybe the 60's was too funky for this style of building? Maybe throw up a large ugly lump of concrete instead?!
