Comments:This one was a carboot find in mint condition. It came with a new Atlas Daylight 4300K tube (seen here), a new AEI Mazda 8W Warmwhite and 3 Japanese 1' 10W T8 6500K Daylight tubes. Got the lot for £1! To think I was going to spend £20 on the exact same!

What a find! Done well there fella! Very Happy The whole lot for a quid as well! Just for the 2 8w tubes alone would be a bargain!!

I've given this a clean and polish now Wink there's hardly a mark on it, one tiny scratch and that's it, you get fittings arrive in box with more scratches than that. There's no marks where you'd screw it to a surface or any wiring discolouration either so this is most definitely new! I've got this buffed up and sitting on my bedside cabinet now Cool Embarrassed, too nice to properly fit somewhere and too nice to hide away in storage!

I bet there's a lovely mint Thorn ballast and original starter in there! Very Happy Proudly on display! Love it!

Well actually the funny thing is it came with a brand new AEI starter in there, a rather late AEI one! There's was also a new 8W Mazda Warm White in the box with it unsleeved. As you know Minipacks came with Warm White tubes and they were ready fitted in there with no sleeve so it seems more likely the Mazda tube came with it.

It's BLI branded which I think may solve the mystery as to why it would come with an AEI starter, BLI formed when Atlas and AEI merged together so my suspicions are they were using up old AEI stock! It would have to go somewhere! I'll take a pic with the cover off, the choke is one of them jet black Thorn 4,6,8W Wink

This must be a late 60s edition! One of the first me reckons! the AEI starter a metal cannister?
Kev   [May 23, 2011 at 05:09 PM]
Yep metal can AEI starter, will get that and the Mazda tube up on here in a bit. The colour scheme of this matches the Superslim and the grey sided Pop Packs, must be the first edition!
