Thorn Popular Pack 4FT 40W

This is the Pop Pack that I fitted a Quickstart ballast into.

Comments:I have the choke and starter safe so I can easily convert it back to it's original state but I probably wont. The sticker says T8/T12 but of course that's not correct now, it's only T12 compatible. The tube starts almost instantly fading in quickly.

What did you do with the starter hole on the side of the fitting? Did you fit a blanking grommet?

Yes but it's a black one so it doesn't look right, I need to find a white grommet really.

Swapping the lampholders for the older T12 style would finish this off nicely! I like the old 5A round pin plug behind it. Do you still have the old sockets in use?

Swapping the battens for T12 ones would look wierd! It has a turnbuckle coverplate... Wink

Ah the 5A plug! No sockets still in the house unfortunately I'm not quite sure why I put a 5A plug on one of my lights because it means I have to use one of those awful adapters. I have a small 2A Crabtree socket screwed onto the side of my desk next to the bed which is on the same circuit as my 8W Lightpack, the two are switched by a white Crabtree dolly switch. I have the 6ft SRS Pop Pack on a 2A plug which is plugged in there normally.
