Comments: | Have to say they have worked fine for me, I've even had a lamp expire in one, not the other way round! I had to install some under cupboard lighting but nothing that would be permanent or cause damage as I live in a rented house and they're fussy about that kind of thing! |

They were pretty shocking!! And they wernt even cheap!! You could get them in Argos aswell but the packaging was always blank. And if you were lucky enough to live somewhere where there was an Argos SUPERSTORE, You could get a 4Ft Twin!!
Tom - IIRC you tried to convince your old man to buy better!
I wish there was a minus 5 star!
I'll make you into an HF lover yet!
@Paul... The day hell freezes over!!!
Funny you should mention that.. I saw Satan in TK Maxx buying a ski jacket!
Lol
I have a 30w thorn SS arrowslim under a unit which is much nicer than all this HF
Definately nicer but these fittings have done me well so far.
We have some of these, they've snapped in half, though! Any ideas for replacement? I threw them straight in the bin, wish I'd taken pics! They need to connect to those linklight connectors...
How the bloody hell did they snap in half? I'm afraid the connectors are different for almost every manufacturer. You'd do best ripping the whole lot out and replacing them with 13W Fitzgerald Miniature Lightpacks, Fitzgerald Undershelf Lights of a suitable length or 13W Thorn Minipacks (if you can find any)! If you'd prefer just one long fitting then it's got to be a Slimline Lightpack! I know someone who has 30W ones going real cheap.

Cheapo £1 each CFLs are best for under units!!! , the Eterna HF gears not going to do any more than 2 tubes anyway, so why not use a `throw away` version? their just as effective.
Still going strong 3 x tubes later... how much longer?
Interesting, maybe their a good unit after all?
They have certainly exceeded my expectations! The one above the kettle is easily on 16 hours a day, for the last 7 years
I think all of us with an interest in lighting tend to look at a lot of stuff and just brand it as `China crap`, the best way to find out is to do your own life tests.
These fittings can do a fair amount of hours. I've got 10-20k out of them, but it's cheaper to buy a new fitting than replace the lamps, so I never do a 'proper' test.
Have had a couple of these as under shelf lighting over the years, only failure so far was one where the switch died after about seven years of day to day service.
7 years is good but I've had far less out of these. Try dead out the box?
I wouldn't be surprised Kev... at the end of the day they are cheap and nasty, certainly not quality! Still not done bad, eh.
