So it's basically a length of LED tape inside? I'm sure the opal versions look superb in 2700K but not so sure of this clear version. LED filaments on the other hand would be something else! I bet these are expensive things too?!

Well not quite. It's a solid PCB, with many different components on the back of it, as well as the LED chips on the front! It looks quite good when lit, but not as good as the original filament lamps. The opal versions do look great though, knock the socks off the plastic Sylvania and Philips lamps which only give light from the front.

I can imagine the opal one looking good. Thank god it's not a load of 3mm LEDs in a row like some cheap and nasty tube replacements!
