Comments:I bought these in 2000 from my local Sainsbury's supermarket. They had been stocked for the millennium celebrations but didn't sell, so were sold of really cheap, 99p for a pack of 5. There is something a bit special about GLS coloured lamps for me, they were commonly used at Christmas, and places like fairgrounds when I was a kid. For this reason, I always associate them with leisure and fun (and no School)!

That was a bargain! I know what you mean about coloured GLS and being related to something special... out in Malawi where I lived as a kid, on the 6th July, they used to have all the government building festooned with coloured GLS lamps and they used to be lit up for about a month to celebrate the independence of Malawi from the UK in 1964. I always used to look forward to it!

Coloured GLS always reminds me of happy, joyful times too! So many from childhood, including earliest memories! These appear to be GE Hungary made, quality lamps!

Great to see others know what I mean about them! Coloured pygmy lamps are the same.

nice Rob! I always think coloured pygmy lamps look funny in festoons as they don't fill the rubber collar (if it's still fitted!)

LOL Know what you mean Davy! They look a bit sorry in sleeved festoon holders! Very short and stumpy!

I'm looking forward to putting these into service in a few weeks when I put up the Christmas lights. They will be used in the festoon chain I bought earlier this year.
