Comments:Saw these in the local Neweys and bought one for the hell of it... Now, I have to say that despite it being LED and 'evil' it has a nice 360' spread of light and the colour is pretty good too. It may not last 5 minutes but I probably won't find out with the little use this will get.

I bought one too! The design is pretty basic, which may mean less things to go wrong! There's an aluminium strip of LEDs mounted inside a plastic tube, with the driver at one end and the whole lot inside a glass tube.

Are they listed as suitable for twin 18W series circuits? Works out about the same total wattage as a new LED panel

Yeah they are and work fairly well. A more directional lamp may suite a modular better though.

You still need to rip out the ballast for twin circuits though. Runs OK with a single 18w ballast still in situ.

Good easier to convert back when I come along. Crap like this is going to do me out of work!

I do sympathise with you Kev but that's probably what the sparkies of their day said about fluorescent lamps....

Ah, but theres still not a lot of people that will pay these LED tube prices yet!

At least these pieces of evil can be smashed up. The EOLED tubes that fail like switchstart in weatherpacks at the cash and carry are SLI Rolling Eyes
