I love simple lighting like this, I hope they do still work too, it would make a fantastic night shot!

Judging by the state of the cables, I doubt they still work.

The cables are all intact Paul, it's just the angle of the photo that makes them look derelict. There are two or three poles with vintage lamps like this, and one with a modern lamp. I'm pretty certain they would all work.
