Cool, the cathode shield make a big difference, but an unshielded lamp is a bit difficult to gauge how old it is, rather looking like their switched alot.

I got these tubes years ago where I used to work they where lit from 7am to 8pm 7 days a week.I think I swoped them for somthing less interesting.I've always had a soft for lamps on there last legs!

Lovely, Seems new T12s dont last long enough to develope these lovely old ware bands unlike lamps from the 60s / 70s some of the stations i look after still have quite a lot of superfives in that have some nice age bands!

seem to remember warm white T12s in small shops when I was a kid always had these worn rings at the ends. I'm sure nostalgia makes the lamps even warmer in the mind Very Happy

Very valid point there Davy! I recall seeing LOADS of heavily banded T12s back in the 80s! The old Osram/Wotan tubes were notorious for it!
