I remember when Argos used to sell these back in the 80s and early 90s along with a 2' twin version. Were often supplied with Philips, Thorn or Sylvania T12 tubes. Resistive ballast as per the Mazda Netaline!

The 4 foot version looks quite nice! Not too keen on my 2 footer though but as I've said before, an interesting design so I'd never get rid of it!

I had the two foot version in the early 80s with the curved ribbed diffuser. The pictured fitting would also have had a diffuser originally as it has the diffuser end caps. Would be a pain to start sometimes!

Believe it or not, it depended which way the N L was entering the fitting. Wrong way round and it was a (...) to start!
