Looks like an old micromark! yes it does look like the old auzzie ss!

Thanks, I can see where the similarities lie like the side-entry for the tubes. You're right it does look cheap. Sorry but I prefer my Pop Pack better (no offence intended!)

Ah yes I've seen a few of these! These were sold with Claude daylight 54 T8s (French Sylvania) The singles are a copy of the original T12 Tamlite! The lamp holder springs weren't great either! Weren't these also sold through one of the wholesaler networks too?

QVS used to sell these along with their other cheap crap! They're not very good, lamp holders are the dodgy bits, they're obviously designed for T12s but they were never supplied with them.

@Martn - I don't blame you for preferring your PP! I would too, purely on pedigree and build quality LOL.
Where's it made?
Not sure - anyone know where these are made?

China I think, I've seen them several times on Chinese manufacturer directory websites!
What gears in them?
IIRC Tridonic

The Crompton battens that are sold here are Chinese but they actually seem ok, I have one here . Even though the lampholders are close togther you can fit T12's in them. The diffuser kits on them are rubbish though so I would only buy the bare lamp version.
