Ah yes I've got a three footer the same, and it's quite an early version of this model! Sticky pad has of course failed leaving the capacitor flapping about!

Are these the caps that are always going faulty on twin PP fittings?

I don't know but these caps certainly seem to go very brittle - the metal can caps were much better. Why did they change to plastic for caps?! Surely metal is easier to recycle?

Were these a standard PP fit from 1981's for the T8 model? I've also found the turnbuckles on the Mk12's a let down, bridge screws were much better
