Lovely stuff Paul! Another good feature is that it'll run 3' T8s too and it shouldn't be too noticeable with that diffuser fitted.

is that a terry clip in the middle of the tube Paul?

Matches my 4 footer, so now have the 4ft and 3ft versions. 3ft T8 tubes are argon filled, aren't they!? Yes, there is a terry clip in the middle.... not sure why on such a short tube!

i didnt think T8s will strike up in these due to the resistive ballast? i know the twin 2 footer i had years ago would not start T8's

Yeah the 3' T8s are argon filled just like their T12 counterparts and are suitable for use on all types of control gear. Same goes for the 18" 15W, 3.5' 40W and 5' 50W.

Not sure if I mentioned this before... I tried a 3ft T8 and it wouldn't work
