Although they're terribly innefecient and very yellow, the architectural lamps are still a clever design, even all these years later! First one I ever saw was a massive 4' one above the organ at my local church (which I had to attend weekly as I was in a C of E school) Anyone remember the coloured ones on Top Of The Pops back in the 80s? Cool

Crompton used to be well known for their many different architectural lamps,the used to do nice frosted ones

Yes I agree! The capless design looks great and they still look modern! Only downside is as you say Tom, the very poor efficacy.

Yes, Crompton used to produce quite a few varieties of these, they still produce the old round peg versions! The clear ones look good, especially when dimmed!

Has anyone ever seen the semi-circle and right angled versions?

Thats quite a good out put for GLS, looks fluorescent.
