Cool, British made! Very Happy , I wonder if Power Star have anything to do with Osram?, Powerstar is one of their trade marks, or did they use the name, and split the word up for copyright reasons?, have you lit one yet Eliot, do they seem any good?

Country of origin isn't exactly specified on these, they look British as first glance but it actually says 'British Standard' on the box, which to me reads 'Made in China' Confused .They seem decent though, first ones I ordered arrived smashed, but that gave me an opportunity to inspect the internal construction! Discharge tube seems well formed with the electrodes very accurately placed, filament is nicely supported too. Most important thing is they seem to work well and I dare say will be alright.

Powerstar is Osram's name for their quartz MBI range. The company who supply these is Powerstar UK Ltd and they do offer some other own brand discharge lamps!

Yeah, you have a valid point there, the gold etch, although saying England, is a Chinese tate, I`ve seen it on really, really poor SON lamps?

Have you run this for any length of time, just wondering how it compares in light output to other 160w MBTF lamps?

No I haven't, one got run for half an hour when I got them but haven't done anything since. It looked reasonable though!
