That's a new style of cap for Sylvania! Nice to see decent lamps like these are still made in Germany. Isn't it about time that 'NEW GENERATION' flag was dropped from the etch? Must've been like this since 1997?

Yeah nearly all the lastest T8s have these caps on, I quite like them! Lol new generaltion, Triphosphor lamps have been arround since the late 70s!

@Eliot Yes i installed some GEs that were SLI made today that had these caps! They are easier to install as they slide in better. Also i have the 1978 Philips T12 84!

Rescued a GE version of this, same colour, from the bin at work its new and still in the sleve it lights up fine dont know why it was thrown away! The Sylvania has a nicer etch though.

I was going to say exactly that, particularly in fittings with rotary lamp holders they slide in nicely with the smooth rounded edges!
