Maybe Mr. Flashy should meet Mr. Smashy! Laughing Laughing

Awesome stuff Tom! Would be interesting to make a 'fitting' with a couple of 60W Philineas and a 4' 40W!

Cheers Eliot! Think I might make a bedside light based on this setup! I wonder if the 4' 150w Architecturals are still available? That'd be ideal alongside a 4 footer as a ballast!

Sounds like a plan. I think you'd struggle, the peg lamps are rare now! There's still the 1000mm 120W made by Osram, with S14S caps, would match up reasonably well both electrically and physically with the 1050mm 40W!

Interesting colour combo, looks like SON/Halide at first.

This has also made me think if it'd be possible to produce a fluorescent/tungsten blended lamp, an MCTF! Surprised With a quartz low pressure mercury discharge tube and filament running in series alongside each other inside a phosphor coated outer envelope? Would have no practical use but would certainly be awesome!

Hmm, a T8 germicidal inside an evacuated phosphored T12 outer with a filament between? Would be a tricky bugger to engineer/make but yes, total awesomeness!

A cool design would be a circline with a tungsten "section" forming part of the circle. With a 2700K lamp it would look like a continuous circle if the glass segments could be successfully compartmentalised. Wonder what James could make us.......

This is really nice.
