Comments:Here is a photo of 2 versions of the T8 Thorn Popular Pack. In the background, is the version I consider to be the crossover model from the T12 version of the PP to the T8. I reckon if you put T12 battens on it, you would have a T12 PP!

Oww! Mine used to go like Eeeekkk-Crunch when I turned the cover plate things round, put some grease on it now and it's fairly smooth. I certainly prefer the slightly earlier model, them starter holders were the best, sometimes lining the starter up with the holder is more fiddly on the later ones. I was going for 2 of these boxed on ebay a while ago but then they went up to £60 something so I gave up.

I guess this is from where thorn gradually started going down hill, The top light IMO was their best! From here on it was all down hill until we get to that pathetic lump of S**t we have today!

Yes - that was definately the better era of Thorn PP... I know things can't stay the same forever but Fitzgerald kept the lightpack unchanged for so long, why didn't Thorn leave the PP alone?!
