Yep you did well to rescue this one Kev! The 2' versions of this are rare, never mind a twin! I've seen a few 8' twins in my time as well as some 6' SRS. Bloody good battens!

Yes thinking back i think i did do well to get this. It is in MINT condition apart from the Crompton badge missing. It also runs so cool compaired to modern fittings, I have left this on all day 16 odd hours while i am at work then all night, You can touch it the ballast is nice and cool and the tubes are luke warm! You can see why these lasted so well!

Is this old girl still up Kev? What lamps is this running now?
Kev   [Feb 16, 2017 at 09:07 AM]
Hi Tom yes it's still up but it shat the used Philips lamps it had faithfully run for the last 7 years they amazingly went EOL within a month of each other it now has a thorn polylux 20W 4000K in one side and a Hungary GE 20W/840 in the other!
Tom   [Feb 16, 2017 at 12:55 PM]
May the Thorn win! Funny how the old Philips tubes seem to fail after years of service with little warning!
Paul   [Feb 16, 2017 at 01:26 PM]
You clearly don't have OCD then Kev! It would have to be a pair of identical lamps for me!
Kev   [Feb 16, 2017 at 10:51 PM]
Yeh I get that but I really wanted to life test the thorn next to the GE
