Comments:I got these in 2005 for very little money while I worked for an electrical wholesaler as they were surplus to a large commercial project. I managed to con Osram into giving me a couple of NOS 22w colour 830 tubes to go with them. Ok I know T5 HF is iffy at the best of times but hopefully these will last a few years at least.

LOL@Kev! That Philips HF should last a good few years being used at home.

The osram lamps are made in Italy! Yes Tom in theory the Philips ballast should give a good life! Or you could switch it on and it could go pop within minutes!

Well Al, there's always a quick and easy switchstart conversion if this goes pop! 2' 20w ballast should fit the bill!

Well I tried one when I first got them and it didn't go pop then, these will be mounted vertically on the wall so hopefully that'll help with heat dissipation. Tom, yeah switch start will be the go if these blow up.

Great fittings Al! Yes! Although not designed for switchstart circuits, the electrical characteristics of these T5s are almost the same as the old 22W T9 Circlines and they work a treat! Cool

Yes I have one in my bathroom that I removed (Old HF ballast kept munching the tubes one every month) So I swooped the fitting and converted it to SS! Works well!!

The fact that not a single item here is of asian origin I'm hoping for the best Wink . I'll let you know how they go!
