Comments:I hope to keep this up a bit longer than the fittings I put up in my kitchen! I think it looks quite at home there!

It is nice and bright! I turn it off when I go to bed. Already started to develop a nice band!

Just perfect in the porch and worth every penny! Wink

Looks great, one of my neighbours still has a 2ft pop pack with an opal diffuser, probably from the 1970s in the porch. I should ask her to save it if she ever decides to get rid, she used to have a grey sided pop pack and a Europa in the kitchen, also with opal Thorn diffussers that I repaired for her in the mid 90s. I missed out when she changed them for halogen spot lights.

What’s the tube?
Paul   [Sep 24, 2017 at 02:41 AM]
Halogen spots?!? What a downgrade!
@CueBall - The tube is a Thorn 3500k standard white manufactured in 1982.

The Thorn 20w tube is ageing very nicely in this fine old fitting! Hums a good tune too! Very Happy
