Comments: | This installation is at the Bootle strand shopping centre a few miles from me, a place I used to visit every day in the early 90s for lunch when I was a college student. I haven't visited much since then so was quite pleased today to see this installation still in regular use! This installation sums up 80s styling pretty well with the zigzags and the bright red. The diffusers are now held in place by red tape, but apart from that and a few dead lamps, the installation is still pretty good! The shopping centrer is a 60s development but the roof was added in the early 1980s. You can see further down some very tidy looking recessed lighting with opal diffusers. |

Nice looking installation. Bet it's all SS and that a couple of new lamps would get everything up and running straight off as well.

There's a very sad story associated with this place, this is where todler James Bulger was abducted in 1993, I was at college 5 minutes walk away on that day and had an exam that afternoon, this place had an awful atmosphere for quite some time
