Pukka mercury lanterns still in service not far from Milton Keynes.

Love these lanterns! Used to have loads all over Oxford! I still remember the gearless models on hockey sticks when I was a kid that were replaced with Beta 5s around 1981 ish. The odd one did survive here and there though! If you see a Beta Five on a hockey stick with about an inch of spigot exposed, it almost certainly would've had a Silver Ray originally! There was one right outside my Nan and Grandad's house!

Yes that was the one Cal! Absolute beauty! Other areas of Oxford has them on old concretes or even telegraph/power poles like above.
