Comments: | Have just discovered this picture on a Facebook group, this shows Lord street in Southport a town 14 miles north from me. It looks to have been taken in the 60s judging by the cars and street signs. Coloured GLS festoons were used well into the 80s in Southport, I remember driving driving down this road in September 1985 and it looked amazing! Check out the red Neon sign on the right. |

Early 60s I'd say. Would bet that every lamp we can see there was made in the UK as well...Quite likely the neon too.

Lovely scene Rob! Loving the neon! Is it me or are those festoons made with regular BC pendant holders? I remember making a festoon with half a dozen BC holders when I was a kid!
