Album name:Rob_TDCi / My Files
Power Consumption:2.5mA
Comments:I was quite intrigued by these linear Neons that came up as part of an Ebay search for something else! They are described as being for strobe applications such as older record players and tape decks. One can be seen here powered up from the mains in series with a 68K resistor. It produces the same rich orange light as a standard main neon.

Interesting test, I have always wondered if you could perminently light one of those Xenon flash tube you get in throw away cameras?

Unusual! You can run neon flashes constantly but only at rediculously low currents, otherwise they overheat.

Looks like a linear version of the familiar quarter watt neon mains indicator lamp?

Yes it is a linear version of the standard quarter watt neon.
