Great find, is this one of the earlier ones in the really heavy hand-blown ruby glass? You can't fail to notice its great weight if it is. I am guessing it may be because it is also marked with the letter S, signifying for Ships lighting, which wasn't always printed on the later production with ordinary thin-walled machine-blown bulbs.

Yes it is, I was amazed at how weighty they are and I noticed the envelopes seem to be slightly elongated compared to the machine blown mass produced lamps they used to make.

I just wish I could have been around at the time Crompton were still producing lamps as they'd manufacture pretty much anything to order! Just imagine what could have been made! Surprised

There's a slight hint of Radar Red in this picture tho I'm sure that's more the camera and my iPad's perception! Love these lamps!
